Sennebogen

What is a Sennebogen?

A Sennebogen is a specialist heavy-duty machine that we use for tree care and vegetation management. The benefits of using a Sennebogen are that it provides a safe, controlled, and highly efficient method of managing trees, particularly in situations where the trees are very large or difficult to access.

What are the advantages of using a Sennebogen?

This type of machinery is especially useful when trees are positioned on steep hillsides, unstable ground, or in areas with limited access, where traditional methods such as climbing or standard forestry equipment may be unsafe or impractical. The Sennebogen allows operators to handle large sections of timber with precision, reducing the risks associated with manual cutting and lowering operations.

The Sennebogen is its exceptional reach and lifting capability. The machine’s powerful hydraulic arm and specialist attachments enable operators to safely cut, lift, move and position large sections of wood with accuracy. This not only improves safety for workers on site but also helps to protect nearby structures, roads, and surrounding landscapes.

The Sennebogen 718e fitted with an Alback was used for its extending reach capabilities for cutting back and removing dangerous level 4 Ash trees, situated on the top of an embankment that has the risk of impacting the highway. The extended reach allows it to work on trees other equipment wouldn’t have the ability to do.

Transporting the Sennebogen

Despite its size and capability, the Sennebogen can be transported efficiently between sites using specialist low-loader transport vehicles. This allows the machine to be safely moved to different locations across the UK, including more remote areas. Once delivered to site, it can be quickly unloaded and prepared for operation, helping to minimise disruption and keep projects running on schedule. The machine’s design also allows it to be transported in a way that meets UK road transport regulations, ensuring safe and compliant movement between jobs.

This flexibility also makes the Sennebogen ideal for rapid deployment during emergency tree work, such as after storms or high winds when large trees may have fallen or become dangerous. The machine’s lifting power and reach enable crews to safely remove heavy timber, clear access routes, and deal with hazardous trees much more quickly than traditional methods.
